Schoolyard Pergola Design, Valencia, ESP

We had the pleasure of collaborating with bg.studio to develop the model and visualizations for an innovative canopy design at a primary school in Valencia. The overarching concept was to create a series of interconnected pergolas that resemble tree-like structures, providing essential sun protection in an area renowned for its intense heat and long summer days.

The design approach focused on both aesthetic appeal and functional performance. The team envisioned modular prefabricated joints that accommodate wooden beams which hold ventilated, semi-transparent roof, designed to diffuse sunlight while allowing for natural ventilation. This structure not only supports the canopy but also enhances the outdoor learning environment for students.

By merging artistic design with practical solutions, the canopy serves as both a protective shelter and a distinctive architectural feature of the school. Our collaboration with bg.studio reflects a commitment to enhancing educational spaces through thoughtful design, creating environments where children can thrive.
